Following the Italian elections, Francesco Zizola photographed the comedian-turned-politician Beppe Grillo and his party known as The Five Star Movement (M5S). The five stars symbolize five key issues: public water, sustainable transport, development, connectivity, and environmentalism.
M5S won the protest vote, coming in third. In so doing, the movement intercepted the frustration, anger and hopes for change of a large portion of the Italian population, deceived by decades of corruption, political stagnation and unassailable privileges embodied by the old establishment.
