For the first time in fifty years the United States and Cuba have restored ties and it seems that living conditions for Cubans will improve after decades of economical austerity.

Although Havana appears to be much the same as it has for decades, signs of prosperity can be seen. Until a few years ago Cubans were not allowed to open their private business, but now small private enterprises are thriving, more cars can be seen in the roads and restaurants, bars and hotels are booming. People are better dressed and the capital’s night life is flourishing.
