Immigrant rights activists stage weekly demonstrations and silent walks circling the Federal Building in New York City where immigrants must check in with Homeland Security and depending on their status,  are detained and deported.  Confrontations with police around the detention of prominent activists have resulted in arrests of  city councilmen and religious leaders and supporters of the Sanctuary movement.
