Michael Rhebergen is a freelance documentary photographer from Holland whose work is focusing on human rights, socio- cultural – and environmental issues, mostly in Latin America. He believes in the power of photography to engage audiences to new subjects. Raising awareness, the first step for change. A passionate and dedicated photographer to tell stories of the unheard.


With a BA in Social Management and a specialization in Cultural Anthropology and International Development Work, he started working as a photographer in Guatemala for a local NGO, which addressed child labor problems.


His first personal project ‘The Importance of Weaving’ has led to a booklet and exhibition. Selling prints and booklets he is raising money for a local NGO in Guatemala that supports the cultural heritage of weaving and their members.


Michael’s work has been published in La Chronique magazine of Amnesty International, MO* magazine, Down to Earth magazine, La Chispa magazine among others. Furthermore he works for a local newspaper and has done work for clients such as the Department of Overijssel, Trendbureau Overijssel, Kunstenlab, SDB Foundation, Ceipa and many others.
