the life of women

NOOR

Women are more involved than ever in both defining and representing their communities. From Bangladesh to Brazil, social progress and economic imperative mean that many women today now have the dual responsibility of raising a family and earning the majority income. For some, these changes have given rise to fantastic opportunity; for others, they have provoked backlash and resentment.

NOOR photographers have worked extensively to document stories about women. The following features cover many different aspects of women’s lives around the world, including achievements and positive progress and continuing hardship and struggle.

We invite you to look at this work in commemoration of International Women’s Day on March 8th 2016.
