leonora baumann (fr/de)
Born in 1987, Leonora Baumann is a Franco-German freelance photographer based in France.
After Visual Art studies and a Bachelor’s degree in photography, Leonora will follow for over a year the daily life of a street juggler in Brussels. With “Hicham: Life at a crossroads” she will earn several awards and a first recognition. Her projects will lead her to Morocco, India, Poland and several times to Turkey where she has –among others- documented the Gezi Park protests in 2013.
In 2014, she completes her cursus with a Bachelor in “documentary photography and transmedia storytelling”, and achieves an internship at a congolese newspaper in Kinshasa, DRC. In the meantime, she starts documenting stories on her own, and completes several assignments for NGO’s and international medias in the capital and in Goma. In 2015, she joined the collaborative platform Hans Lucas.
She is currently working on the women condition in the DRC, with a focus on girls-mothers and maternity.
