HAITI, Port au Prince, July 2016 GISELE, 20 years old: "My cousin told me that I had bad luck, that something was wrong with me. A friend of my parents said that he was a mason and therefore could help remove the “bad eye”. He took me to an isolated place and asked me to get naked. He touched me and raped me. I even gave him 1000 gourds. I told my family what happened. Now he is hiding, and he is under the protection of a women judge. I want justice to be done. I also know he is a recidivist. He did the same to two little girls from my neighbourhood. The parents are scared so they don’t do anything. Both girls are 15 and 12." Bénédicte Kurzen / NOOR

Haiti, near Caracol, July 2016 Willy Davilmar, poses in front of the wall build around the industrial park. He lost land. In January 2011, 442 families lost the land they had cultivated for decades in Caracol, Northern Haiti, to make way for one of the flagship projects of post-earthquake reconstruction in Haiti: the Caracol Industrial Park. The project was led by the Haitian government, funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the United States Department of State (USAID), and was mainly and geared toward making clothes for export to the United States. 5 yeas later, the living conditions of the majority of women and men who lost their land to the project have deteriorated due to the loss of their land and the lack of fair and adequate compensation and rehabilitation. They have united in a collective of victims which has called on the Haitian government and the IDB to initiate a new and fair compensation process, and are about to file a complaint at the IDB's independent accountability mechanism. International Waters, somewhere in the Mediterranean Sea, October 2016 France recently moved the Charles de Gaulle -- or "CDG" as the crew calls it -- to the Mediterranean Sea, close to the Syrian coast. The move comes as Iraqi-led forces have begun what is expected to be a messy and prolonged offensive to seize the country's second-largest city, Mosul. Several times per hour the crew launches between four and 10 fighter jets, many of them armed and headed for Iraq and Syria. The Rafale M will fly three different types of missions. First up is "Close Air Support," where jets essentially loiter around the airspace waiting for allied ground forces to call on them to hit ISIS targets. All strikes must go through the central coalition targeting center, led by the US, and be approved by the French military. Secondly, the Rafales will conduct pre-planned air strikes against ISIS facilities and leaders. And thirdly, the aircraft will take pictures of ISIS installations and personnel, to be used in later strikes. A mix of Iraqi security forces, Kurdish and Arab fighters, as well as supporting US and French personnel, have already taken significant ground around Mosul and the final offensive is believed to be imminent. Ghana, Busua, 01 November 2015 Emmanuel 'bebe' Ansah, surf instructor. Susie takes care of the bar at Ahanta Waves Surf School. Having run a foreign-owned surf school in Busua Beach for 6 years, Peter Ansah, a local of Busua decided it was time to start on his own. His vision is to share his unrivalled local knowledge about the best waves in Ghana with people who share his passion for surfing! The name Ahanta Waves comes from the Ahanta Region along the west coast of Ghana. Legend has it that the Ahanta people traveled the sea by holding the tails of whales and dolphins. This is why the kings of Busua have the name Bonsoe (meaning whale). Today however, we rather like to use surfboards instead of hitching a ride with whales. Benedicte Kurzen / NOOR
